HBT: A's hit 5 HRs, still lose to Rangers

Rangers setup man Mike Adams had allowed one homer in 51 2/3 innings this season until suddenly giving up three to the five A?s hitters he faced today.

Fortunately for Adams, the Rangers had a 9-4 cushion when he entered and they went on to win 9-7 to split a four-game series with the A?s.

Texas jumped out to a 5-0 lead in a first inning that featured homers from Ian Kinsler and Mike Napoli and then withstood Oakland?s change. Josh Reddick homered twice for the A?s, and Derek Norris, Yoenis Cespedes and Brandon Moss homered once apiece.

For Moss, it was his 20th homer in 246 at-bats this season. He?s gotten increased playing time of late, so he won?t become the seventh player in big-league history to finish a season with 20 homers and fewer than 250 at-bats. However, he will be the 30th player to have done it in less than 300 at-bats.

With Moss joining Reddick and Cespedes, the A?s now have three 20-homer guys, matching their total from the previous four seasons combines. They went without a 20-homer guy in 2010, and they had just one player get there in 2008 (Jack Cust), 2009 (Cust) and 2011 (Josh Willingham).

Immigrants DREAM on: Neither Obama nor Romney will help you ...

Undocumented students who now have conditional, permanent residency thanks to the DREAM Act have been protesting Mitt Romney and his stance on immigration, or lack thereof, across the country.

"He advocates for self-deportation, he is against very logical legislation like the DREAM act, like deferred action," says Sofia Campos of DreamTeam L.A.

ReasonTV caught up with some of the protesters in downtown Los Angeles, and questioned them on their views of Romney, Obama, and a realistic future for immigration policy.

"President Obama has had a record number of deportations in his administration," says Pablo Reyes, president of National Pursuit of Dreams, "he passed deferred action, and we're thankful for that, but we know it's not the end battle."

About 2:30 minutes.

Low Back Pain Specialists, How Do You Choose?

I never really realized how many people call themselves low back pain specialists until I hurt myself a few weeks ago. ?I went online and found ads for surgeons, physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, and even trainers. ?I finally chose a chiropractor who didn?t call himself a Chapel Hill low back pain?specialist. ?I got his name from one of the faculty at UNC. ?He said he had heard him lecture at the University and seemed to have a good approach. ?He said he regularly integrated physical therapy and massage for his patients. ?It made me feel better that I wasn?t going into a place that wouldn?t let me leave. ?He was excellent at what he did.?

Virgil Hunter promises to bring Amir Khan back to his game ? Boxing News

Finally, it seems like Bolton fighter Amir Khan has found someone who believes in him, and it is none other than the reigning BWAA trainer Virgil Hunter. In an interview with Examiner.com, Hunter revealed that Amir Khan?s game can be of elite level, only if he can eliminate his flaws.

?Amir Khan, without a doubt, is extremely talented. Of course, in my personal opinion, there are reasons why he has been in some of the predicaments that he?s been in but those predicaments are easily recognized and they are easily eliminated out of his repertoire,? said Hunter when asked about Khan?s game.

?People are really quick to put labels on you. I see a kid who takes a pretty damn good punch; it?s the decisions after he takes the punch that cost him. It?s part of boxing. People don?t realize that Ezzard Charles was knocked out seven times. Joe Louis was knocked out. It goes on and on.?

Earlier this month, Amir Khan revealed he has parted ways with his long time trainer Freddie Roach, believing that it is time for him to bring a change in his game. Khan lost his WBA lightweight title to American unbeaten fighter Danny Garcia on July 14 at the Mandalay Bay Casino and Resort.

The Briton fighter was knocked out in the fourth round by Garcia. Khan had promised his fans that he would bring another knockout in his portfolio but his devastating loss to Garcia only added to his grieves. He was called a ?write-off? by fellow Briton fighter Carl Froch and a ?cry baby? by many others.

Khan immediately admitted that his defence was weak in the ring and revealed that he needs to work with a new trainer in order to improve his game. Khan blamed Roach for not giving him enough time to practice well.

Khan wanted Roach to make him his number one priority but the Hall of Famer trainer asserted that Filipino fight sensation Manny Pacquiao will remain his number one fighter and not Khan. Upon hearing Roach?s decision, Khan decided to fire him and go ahead with another trainer.

There is no official news yet as to whether Virgil Hunter is Khan?s new trainer or not but speculations suggest he is.

Today Show: Making Fatherhood Look Cool! - NYC Dads Group

This morning, the Today Show featured a segment titled "the New Normal: Stay-at-Home Dads Embracing the New ?Norm" highlighting our community of fathers in New York City. ?As you'll see from the brief segment, there is nothing emasculating about spending quality time with your child! ?In fact, we think the clip does a nice job of showing the "cool factor" of fatherhood! ?Yes, it's cool to hang out with other active, engaged, and confident dads for socialization, support, and education while our children play and interact with each other. ?Similar to the NYC Dads Group, communities of fathers (whether it's strictly an at-home dad group, working dads group, group for older dads, or beyond) are sprouting up across the nation, creating a place for dads to hang out, share best practices, vent frustrations, talk fantasy football, or discuss juggling their career and family. ?We believe fathers hanging out in a pack will soon become THE NEW NORMAL...and we're proud to keep moving the conversation forward to get there!

Pacquiao ready to accept Mayweather's demands ? Boxing News ...

Pacquiao ready to accept Mayweather?s demands ? Boxing News

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao have finally come to agreeing terms regarding the defamation case filed by the Filipino?s attorney. The suit was filed back in 2009 when Floyd Mayweather accused Manny Pacquiao of using performance-enhancing drugs. According to a statement by Pacquiao?s attorney, nobody has the right to accuse an athlete of using performance-enhancing drugs without any evidence.

Last week, a US District court ruled against Mayweather, ordering the unbeaten American fighter to pay 70,000 in legal fees and the cost to avoid questioning under oath. However, now both Pacquiao and Mayweather have come to a resolution. The agreement was filed in a US District Court in Las Vegas and the terms are kept confidential, according to Malcolm LaVergne, Mayweather?s lawyer.

?The matter has been resolved. Any alleged terms of the resolution would be strictly confidential. Floyd Mayweather Snr is very happy that this lengthy case has finally come to a conclusion,? said Malcolm.

On the other hand, the Mayweathers, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his father Floyd Mayweather Sr., revealed that they are happy to learn the case has finally been solved.

?We wish to make it clear that they never intended to claim that Manny Pacquiao has used or is using any performance-enhancing drugs, nor are they aware of any evidence that Manny Pacquiao has used performance-enhancing drugs,? read a statement by the Mayweathers.

The agreement between the two rivals has further increased the chance of a super-fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao. According to Keith Kizer, the fight will be the most anticipated one in boxing history.

Pacquiao is currently scheduled to fight Juan Manuel Marquez on December 8. It will be the fourth time the Filipino will be locking horns against the Mexican legend. If Pacquiao wins the fight, he will have a better standing against Mayweather.

On the other hand, Mayweather is deciding to fight in December but his opponent is unknown yet. Currently, the American unbeaten is enjoying his time off and is busy promoting his newly formed TMT Promotions.

At least, this agreement is a step further towards a possible fight between the two, something that fans have been waiting for long.
