Deity RolePlay

I have been considering starting a freeform roleplay focusing on the interactions between Greek-esque deities who are vying for power by converting mortals to their faith. As many of us should know, Greek deities had many competitions and quarrels, and often those competitions and quarrels were taken down from Mount Olympus to the realm of men. They could also be killed, both by each other and the occasional mortal/demigod. There is also a logical deduction that deities require the faith of worshipers to derive their power from, another key component to this roleplay.

The players would take on various self-created roles in a fictional pantheon in a fictional realm, with their own set of basic abilities that change and/or grow stronger as they gain a stronger following, whether through sheer numbers of half-believers or a moderately sized but incredibly dedicated force of fanatics. Demigods would also be permitted, often serving a particular deity, with a similar ability set on a more restricted scale. Through the course of the roleplay, these demigods may be able to ascend into full fledged godhood, though a god cannot be reduced to a demigod.

While I will read every suggestion thoroughly, I will not necessarily make the changes you suggest, but I will provide reasoning in most cases.
